Groups will be put together based on subjects. Science teachers will be one group, Language Arts teachers another group, Mathematics teachers a third group, and Social Studies teachers a fourth group. Once groups are together they will each work to complete the different steps of the Web Quest. First each group must choose a different book or several books that can be used in their classroom and as an upcoming lesson.
1. Each person will choose a good nonfiction book that they can develop into a lesson that may be used in the classroom.
2. Each person will then read the book that they chose.
3. After reading the book each group will have an Educational Rendezvous and get together for a Book Talk discussing the merits of the nonfiction books they chose and why it was chosen.
4. Then each member of the group will individually explore 3 different Web 2.0 Tools that could be either: used to present the book to the students, or used in a lesson reinforcing the book to the students, or that students could use in their own projects about the book.
5. Each person will then write a brief summary of the pros and cons of each of the 3 Web 2.0 Tools that they explored, and share their summaries through the Technology Incorporation tab of this website.
6. Each group will then reconvene for a second Educational Rendezvous discussing the merits of the different Web 2.0 Tools they discovered and their possible uses.
7. Then each group will create a lesson plan using the nonfiction book and the Web 2.0 Tools. The lesson plan must include an activity for their students where they will create.
8. The group will then reconvene once more for an Education Rendezvous. The groups will present each of their lesson plans to the other and then choose one to present to all the other groups.
9. All groups will get together to discuss the process and present their chosen lesson plans.
